“Many, if not most, sports create imbalances in the body due to repetitive movement demanded by the sport. CrossFit balances the body, renewing it by virtue of constantly varied exercise.
Sports, by their very nature, are repetitive. A volleyball player performs the same movements over and over, a swimmer even more so. Not that a volleyball player’s movements are boring or lacking in grace or power, quite the opposite, but performing similar motor patterns over and over leads to imbalances in the body. Over time, those imbalances can lead to problems.”
Workout
4 rounds for time of:
- 30 Double-unders
- 100m of dumbbell double waiter carry (boys: 35# DBs; girls: 25# DBs)
Each time the dumbbells are taken down from the overhead position before the 100′ waiter walk has been completed, perform 10 burpees.

150 singles, 3 laps 12lb DB overhead x 4 rounds (one penalty round burpees) = 12:55.
I felt great solidarity when heard someone actually whimpering during Round 4. I was the last person finishing when realized those pathetic mewing noises were being made by me. — Do’h !! –
30 DU’s + 20lb waiter carry x 4 rounds = much pain!
*18.41 mins (50 penalty burpees)
round 1 – 10 burpees (was soooo close to making the full 100m)
round 2 – 20 burpees
round 3 – 20 burpees (TY paul for push, cuz another 10 was looking likely)
21:43 as rx’d
that was aweful..
I found this ok, 11:55.
That may have something to do with only doing 3 rounds.
