As Rx’d or Not As Rx’d? That is the Question

“In CrossFit, we use the term “as Rx’d” to denote that we did a particular Workout of the Day (WOD) “as Prescribed.”  This means that we completed the workout as written, with no scaling or modifications, with full range of motion (ROM).

The issue of what counts as “Rx’d” or not has been coming up more and more over the last few months.  Especially with the introduction of beyondthewhiteboard.com, many athletes are focusing more on their times than they used to.  This is fine, up to a point.  Let me offer some clarification.”

Filthy Fifty

For time:

  • 50 Box jumps (24″ box)
  • 50 Jumping pull-ups
  • 50 Kettlebell swings (boys: 16kg; girls: 12kg)
  • 50 Walking lunges
  • 50 Knees-to-elbows
  • 50 Push press (boys: 45#; girls: 35#)
  • 50 Back extensions
  • 50 Wall ball shots (boys: 20#; girls: 16#)
  • 50 Burpees
  • 50 Double-unders

    I loved this workout… even though I did not do it Rx’d (only L1)… my thighs are still feeling it.
    Of course, while I was doing the workout, I was not feelin’ the love for it.

    PS: Should we use this comment board to post our times?

    If feeling blind at the end means I rocked it… then yes I did, or rather, it rocked me.

    L1 — 26 reps (vs 50), 130 single skips (vs 50 DU), Push Press (35lbs), Wall Ball 10lb, KB, 8lb

    I did it as prescribed (Level 3)and my motivation was trying my hardest to keep up with Liz.

    28min11sec. I was happy to complete it under 30min….but would love to go for 25min.

    I found wall ball and burpees the toughest right at the end. Overall, not bad for my first time completing this one. And it was less painful than my birthday workout ;)

    i personally used a different f-word to accompany this 50!

    my first full “fiddi” at L2 weights
    (20″ box jumps, 12kg KB, 12# wall ball, 35# push press)

    liz, killa c, lisa and lady g…you push me into a place of extreme discomfort every WOD…and for his i heart you all! <3 when i grow up i’m gonna be L3 like you!

    Everyone worked so hard yesterday!

    “Filthy it was…” I did 50 reps at L2 (20″ box jumps, 12kg KB, 14# wall ball, 35# push press) = 30:08. WHEW!
